Every year, Niseko welcomes thousands of visitors from around the world who come to enjoy its exceptional snowfall and offers breathtaking landscapes. At the same time, Niseko is a place where local residents live their daily lives, and where diverse wildlife and natural ecosystems exist. 

Enjoy & Respect Niseko is a local campaign designed to encourage visitors and seasonal workers to share Niseko in a positive, respectful, and sustainable way. The campaign aims to maximize the benefits of tourism while minimizing its impacts on the local community and natural environment.

At its core is a simple idea: Be the guest locals love. Enjoy, Respect Niseko promotes awareness of local customs, everyday social norms in Japan, and respect for neighborhoods, shared spaces, and the natural environment through clear and approachable messaging.

The campaign focuses on shared responsibility and mutual understanding, by encouraging small, thoughtful actions - such as respecting residential areas, using public spaces responsibly, and caring for nature - that together make a meaningful difference. 

Japan is governed by thousands of unwritten cultural rules, which are not always clear to overseas visitors.  Through friendly visuals, practical guidance, and consistent communication, the campaign seeks to make respectful behavior intuitive and easy to achieve. By enjoying Niseko with respect, we help ensure that this special place remains welcoming, vibrant, and sustainable for generations to come - for everyone.
